Aged Care Fees*

When considering the costs of care, there is an additional fee to be aware of – this is called the Daily Care fee. It is additional to the accommodation cost. There are two parts to the Daily Care Fee:

Standard Resident Contribution

All residents pay this basic daily care fee that covers all living expenses
$49.07 per day**
Means-Tested Care Fee
The means-test assessment is based on your assessable income and asset, and is reviewed quarterly
Some residents are required to pay an additional contribution towards the cost of care
Centrelink will determine the amount you are required to pay

Your payment options

1. CONTACT MY AGED CAREYour doctor will be able to refer you to My Aged Care for an assessment. The Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) – based here at Lyndoch Living, will be able to assist you in determining your eligibility for government-funded services.

2. DETERMINE YOUR ASSISTED GOVERNMENT PAYMENTSAfter assessing your income and assets, the Australian Government will determine the percentage you will pay for your accommodation. Your options include:

– No cost
– Accommodation Contribution – A partial cost
– Accommodation Payment – The full cost

3. CHOOSE HOW TO PAYOnce assessed there are three options to choose from when covering accommodation costs:

–  Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) – A full refundable lump sum
– Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) – The lump sum converted into a daily payment
– Combination (RAD/DAP) – A combination of the daily payment and lump sum
